List Rules & Information

The Triad Ride List Google Group exists so that members (~750, at the moment) can share information about bicycle rides and topics of interest to other cyclists in the North Carolina Piedmont Triad. The list manager is Ian Joyce (psyclist@gmail.com).

The List is not affiliated with any club, bike shop or other organization or business, though all of these are welcome to participate in list discussions. List members’ personal information is not sold, loaned or otherwise shared with third parties. Ever.

The rules are simple:

  1. Posts about bicycle rides and issues of interest to Piedmont Triad cyclists are welcome. Everything else is not. Post accordingly.
  2. Don’t include attachments with your emails.
  3. Be nice. If you aren’t interested in a particular topic, use your delete key. Respectful disagreements are okay; flaming or trolling others is not. Complaints about others’ posts – whether to the group or list manager – are unwelcome.
  4. Commercial posts are okay, within limits: Individuals can offer an item for sale once – if it doesn’t attract interest take it to Craigslist. Businesses or their surrogates (employees, shop ride leaders, owners, etc.) may post standalone commercial announcements – these may not be part of a ride announcement or other non-commercial post.
